Often happy. ~ Everyday life with a Shiba Inu ~
Hello! Today, I'd like to talk about the most adorable animal in the world (no one will disagree): the Shiba Inu. With their curly tails, big eyes, and tsundere personalities... what is it about Shiba Inu dogs that makes them so charming?
What kind of dog is a Shiba Inu?
The Shiba Inu is a small dog native to Japan that originally served as a hunting dog in mountainous regions and has a wild side. However, modern Shibas have become household favorites. They spend their days sitting down to say "good morning," sunbathing in the afternoon, and curling up at their owner's feet at night.
By the way, the name "Shiba" is said to come from the archaic word "shiba," which means "small woodland." In other words, Shiba Inu were "dogs that thrive in woodland areas." What a poetic origin!
A little bit of Shiba Inu history
The Shiba Inu's roots are said to date back to the Jomon period. Shiba Inu, which was kept as a hunting dog in the mountainous regions of Japan, is agile, intelligent, and extremely loyal. In 1936, it was designated a "natural monument" and has been protected as a treasure of Japan.
After the war, the breed was on the brink of extinction, but thanks to the efforts of many dog lovers, it has been revived. Now, the "Shiba Inu" is hugely popular overseas! "Shiba Inu memes" have become a buzz on social media, and people all over the world are fascinated by the charms of the Shiba Inu.
What I love about Shiba Inu!
• Curled tail!: That curly tail is like a whirlpool of happiness. Just looking at it will warm your heart.
• Expressive! Angry? Embarrassed? Or... whimsical? A Shiba Inu's face is like a little theatre.
• Tsundere personality!: One moment he'll be sweet to you, and the next he'll suddenly turn his back on you. But I can't get enough of his whims.
• He loves going for walks!: When you show him the leash, he jumps up and down with joy, which makes you feel excited too.
Enjoy a peaceful time with a Shiba Inu
Shiba Inu dogs are perfectly suited to Japan's four seasons. They take naps under the cherry blossoms in spring, listen to the sound of wind chimes in summer, run through the autumn leaves in autumn, and snuggle up in a kotatsu in winter. They are like the embodiment of the Japanese spirit.
Living with a Shiba Inu is like weaving your days together with a little poet. It's quiet, warm, and a little whimsical, but there's a strong bond there.
Next time, we will be covering even more cute and philosophical (?) themes, such as "The secret hidden in Shiba Inu behavior" and "The similarities between Shiba Inu and Japanese sweets."
So, today will be another "frequently happy" day.
