Under the Snow – Yukinoshita

"There is warmth in the silence."

"Under the Snow" is a color name derived from the plant Saxifraga stolonifera.
It is named after the fact that it keeps its green leaves underneath even when covered in snow.
It has round leaves with white spots and blooms white flowers in early summer, but is an evergreen perennial that continues to live quietly through the winter. November 30th marks the end of Shimotsuki.
As winter begins to take hold, this is a day to focus on "things that live in places we cannot see," such as those beneath the snow.
This feeling is also connected to the "white space" and "quiet poetry" that WABISUKE values.

Under the snow in daily life

• Leaves under the snow taking root at the edge of a well • Signs of green remaining in a winter garden • A quiet life force that doesn't wither even under the snow

Beneath the snow, it is inconspicuous, silent, yet certainly alive.
Their appearance teaches us of hope and warmth in the silence of winter.
