The distance between the tea scoop and the moon

The distance between the tea scoop and the moon

There is a different kind of silence in a tea room at night than there is during the day . It is not a dazzling silence, but a silence that sleeps endlessly.
.

You can pick up the tea scoop.
It 's thin, light, and a bit unreliable.
However, this unreliability actually gives a sense of security.

Tea scoops have names.
Things like "Floating Bridge of Dreams" and "Sound of Shigure."
It's probably impossible for the tea scoop in my mind to have a name.
But no one has taught me that
.

I suddenly think.
How far is this tea scoop from the moon?
, a more poetic distance.

Make tea.
The hot water spreads and blends into the silence of the night.
The movement of the tea whisk is like caressing the moonlight.
The bubbles floating on the surface of the matcha are deeper than they were during the day and sway gently.

I give one of the bubbles a name.
"Beyond the Moon"
And one more thing,
"The Last Day You Laughed"

No one told me that before.
The moment it becomes words, it disappears like a bubble.

As I return the tea scoop to its original place, I gently close my eyes.
At that moment, it felt like the atmosphere in the tea room had changed slightly.
Maybe the moon is just a little closer.
Or maybe I just distanced myself a little.

That's what the tea ceremony is all about.
A consultation to measure distance.
A silent dialogue with the invisible.

The moon still rises in the tea room at night.
The tea scoop doesn't say anything.
But I felt like I was definitely hearing something in the silence.
